When I am not working with plants I am constantly working on small design-build projects. These project help me keep my design mind sharp, and increase my familiarity with with new materials and shop skills. I often use materials reclaimed from garden projects, and have begun making custom pieces on commission.
Living Loom

Outdoor steel loom frame, with grapevine "living warp", intended to be woven with a combination of cord, wire, and recycled or foraged materials found within the garden. Interlocking pieces hold the frame rigid and sturdy with no welding or other fixed-joinery.

Lynn Harris, who utilizes Saori principals to design and hand weave pieces such as the two pictured at right.
